The previous reading pointed to Dewey and Papert (among others) as providing the theoretical foundations of maker education. In this piece, Blikstein includes Freire’s concept of education as empowerment as a “pillar” of maker education theory.
Blikstein also introduces a very useful concept: the keychain syndrome. Keep an eye out for that.
