3D Printing in the Inventing to Learn Lab

There are a ton of different 3D printers, and each one looks and operates a little differently. Some of the basics, which you learned about in the previous lesson, are the same, but you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the machines in the lab.

Specifically, we have:

• Several Afinia H480s
• Two Afinia H800s
• A Formlabs 1+

Afinia H800 – these are the fastest printers in the lab. They have the largest print area and they can make the nicest looking prints.

Afinia H480 – these are smaller and sturdier than the H480. They’re perfect for simple print jobs.

Formlabs 1+ – this is an entirely different kind of 3D printer. You can learn how to use it in DF200.
