Activity: Design a Piece of Curriculum

Decorative image of students at a table working with supplies.

Your mission for this project is to design a piece of curriculum (a mini-unit, a full unit, a whole course, etc.) that leverages making to support student learning.

The setting for this curriculum is up to you. It can be formal PK-12 classrooms, informal learning spaces, higher education, online education, or professional learning.

In a Word document, include the following:

1. Context: write 1-2 paragraphs describing the context. Make sure to include the following details:

a. Who are the learners?
b. What do they already know?
c. What resources do they have access to?

2. Learning objectives: define some measurable objectives you want the students to achieve by the end of the mini-unit. Write these objectives explicitly into this section.

3. Describe your concept: In this section (~2-4 paragraphs), describe what the students will be asked to do. Be as detailed as possible through here.

4. Reflection: In 1-2 paragraphs, describe how making will support the type of learning that you envision occurring.

Upload the Word document below.
