Activity: Cut Out a Design
The best way to learn about die cutting is to actually perforate and cut out an item! In this activity, you will create a pillow box using one of the lab’s Silhouettes.
- On one of the lab computers, download this pillowbox file: Pillowbox. Important: do not click on the download in the web browser. Instead, open Silhouette Studio from the link on the Desktop, then once you’re in Silhouette Studio, click on File, then Open, then navigate to Downloads, and choose the Pillowbox download. Just ask one of the instructors if you need help with this part!
- If you think you might want to use your own computer with the Silhouette, you can download the Silhouette Studio software here.
- Connect the computer to a Silhouette, load a sheet of cardstock on a carrier sheet, and cut out the design. Make sure to ask one of the instructors for help!
- Fold and tape the page together to make the pillow box.
- Take a picture of the completed pillow box, and upload it below.
Remember, you must be logged in to be able to submit your picture!
