Scratch Communities

Scratch is an example of how a community of makers can grow online.

  1. Visit https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/ and click around in the various discussions. Notice how the community members help each other to learn more about Scratch and to troubleshoot programs. This is an example of a typical interaction in the Scratch community (notice from the timestamps on the left how quickly the original poster’s question was answered by another member of the community):
  2. Visit the Scratch Educators community: http://scratched.gse.harvard.edu/. Though this platform is now closed, there are other platforms that educators use to learn about and discuss using Scratch in Education–check out the links to the Scratch Educators Meetups Network and Teaching with Scratch Discussion Group (Facebook link).
